FROM THE DESK OF FR. LEN
If
only I could have an extra hour in the day I could get so much more
accomplished. How often have we said
this to our family, friends and co-workers?
When I speak to those who have retired over the last few years, they
marvel at how much more they were able to do when they had “less time.” It isn’t really the extra hour that is
needed – it is how we use our time.
Jesus tells his disciples often to find an “out of the way place” so
that they could be more effective in their ministry. As we celebrate the solemnity of Our Lady of Lourdes this
weekend, I encourage you to follow the words of her son in finding that space
in your life each day, that special quiet location, where you can rejuvenate,
reenergize and reinvigorate your life.
If we are to be the best disciples of our Lord, we need to not be burned
out but burn bright with the spirit of our Lord. Have a great week and accomplish what you wish to do.
