FROM THE DESK OF FR. LEN

It seems that every time I see a film or a show some insight is incorporated into a homily or the bulletin.  I should ask my accountant if I could take the price of the tickets as tax write-offs.  One insight I learned from the movie DREAMGIRLS was the importance of family.  Even though we love to be independent, we need the support of those that share a common kinship.  Whether it is blood, friendship or faith we need to keep alive the ties that support us.  When tough times come, we need to know that our family will stand by us.  That is why we always encourage people to actively participate in the life of our church family.  Speaking from my own experience, knowing a member of our community makes my ministering so much easier because of a connectedness.  Seriously consider making OLL your other family – we need you to make a difference.

This Monday is the annual March for Life in Washington, D.C.  Please refer to the bulletin notice on the last page concerning free transportation to D.C.  If you cannot attend, I encourage you to spend a few moments in prayer on Monday asking God to assist us in keeping holy the sanctity of all life, from conception to natural death.
